The policy of Megawati Soekarnoputri

JI-Jakarta. Megawati Soekarnoputri, the matriarch of the ruling Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI-P), has warned her members that she will not tolerate any political maneuvering within the party in the lead-up to the 2024 general elections, and that she will expel anyone immediately for not toeing the party line.

Addressing members at all levels on Tuesday, Megawati reiterated her prerogative to nominate a presidential candidate as she warned party members who overstepped her authority they would face expulsion. Megawati said that she preferred having members who are rebels over traitors.
