Politicization over Brimob’s Jail Riot

On Wednesday night till Thursday morning, two days ago, Indonesian people had shocked by Mobile Brigade’s jail riot in Kelapa Dua, Depok, West Java. Those one had been caused 5 police’s officer and 1 terrorist verdict were dead. Meanwhile, 1 police’s officer, Head Sergeant Iwan Sarjana had released by terrorist crowd, but 3 other police’s officer had been informed that they were injured. On Friday’s morning yesterday, 1 police’s officer was dead by stubbed a terrorist in front of their headquarter in Kelapa Dua, Depok, West Java, but the attacker was killed by police’s shot.

Substantionally, terrorist verdict could be judged as “the failure of intelligence and ignorance to standard operation procedure”. These facts has been broadcasting by several foreign mass media such as the Washington Post and the New York Times. Meanwhile, a terror group’s media campaigner, Amaq magazine had claimed those riot had been created by Islamic State symphatizers in Indonesia. Amaq’s claim had been quoted by SITE, a one of credible institution which dedicated to monitor and analysted terrorist movement around the world.

Finally, Mobile Brigade (Brimob) the National Police, the Indonesia Military and supported information from BNPT and the State Intelligence Agency (BIN), Brimob’s jail riot could be handled. And 155 terrorist verdict had been removed to Nusa Kambangan, Central Java.

Some of argument has been circulation about the trigger of a jail riot at Brimob headquarter such as about the capacity of Brimob’s pennitentiary is loaded, an imminent food and other seriously and dangerously argument which was circulated especially on social media.

Because of that, the head of the State Inteligence Agency (BIN), General Police (Ret) Budi Gunawan, PhD, had been warned about politicization phenomenon over Brimob’s jail riot.

Budi Gunawan has said politicization over Brimob’s jail riot could be maintained an intolerance attitude, supporting the existence of radical and terror group in Indonesia. “Because of that, do not politicized for a pragmatic political purpose. And We are still mourning, “said four star Police’s general.

I think BIN’s warning which had said by Budi Gunawan is a true, because political skirmish, political spat and political maneuver over those case just has been made a terror’s cell group in Indonesia would be taken a political gain because their purpose from making riot at Brimob’s jail to build political spat and political prejudice among Indonesian people had been reached.

I think Budi Gunawan’s statement is true because an intolerance attitude is a basic of radical and terror’s roots among society. According this, several survey from credible institution such as Wahid Institute, Maarif Institute and Setara Institute had previously been warned about the danger of an intolerance attitude.

So, what’s next? The goverment must be busted an intolerance mass organization and banned all of public speaker and public figure who will promote an intolerance value on mass media, public space, worship vanue (mosque, church, tample, etc). This is not democracy busting because we can not build health and possitive democracy during a massive and rapidly an intolerance attitude growing among our lovely society. Hopefully.
